Nice campground, not much for kids. One of the staff members not very friendly, actually got pretty nasty with my wife. she got pretty uptight with me because she made a mistake on our reservation and wasn't happy about having to find a way to fix it. We ended up having to take a non-full hook up site instead of what we reserved.

Rented a cabin there... Nothing like what we expected. It's within 40 yards of the owners house and has a pull barn right behind it. The owners are not very friendly. It seems they would be much happier with older aged campers. The pool was nice but NOT heated. We will be looking elsewhere next time we come to town.

If you have to get stranded, I hope you find a place like this!! Plenty of cool green, thick grass and full-growth trees! The smell of fresh-mown grass twice a week, the nicest owners and office folks and workers you could ever meet, CLEAN laundry room with $1 to wash and $1 to dry, and peace and quiet in abundance. It was heaven. We came for a night and stayed for a week - being stranded wasn't a delight - but it was as painless as it could be in this lovely setting. We found a couple of great restaurants, trekked to a nice theatre for mother's day to a movie, and got STELLAR advice on where to get our RV repaired. These guys KNOW their RV repair services!! Need a place to camp for a day or a week? It's worth finding Countryside Campground in Harrison, MI. Check it out!!!

This was like staying in your old cranky aunt's back yard. They are kind of nice at first and glad to see a customer but then they watch and follow you around waiting to correct your every move. "No bikes allowed in that area" "No dogs over there" "Turn those lights off" . Go have fun elsewhere and avoid being babysat by these folks. They want this place filled with old folks like themselves. Not a family-friendly campground.

Came up to Harrison to spend time with my family of five for Thursday through Sunday. We we're the last group coming in Thursday at 7:52 pm. The owners seemed kind of rushed to give us our stuff and then leave to go do whatever else there is to do when their front office closes (at 8-8:30).They didn't take time to talk about the rules/checkout time/ect., but instead gave us a sheet to try and figure it out ourselves. The owners then go around watching your every move all day. "Don't do this. You can't do that. Go and fix this," which seemed rude considering they didn't go over all the rules with you. The pool was okay, but not heated. The bathrooms were VERY small. We also were thinking about staying two extra nights (Monday, and Tuesday), but they had told us they were already booked full. That was funny because one of the people that stays there often said they were NEVER full. To top it off, we had discussed prices over the phone and they LIED. There were two adults, and three children. We were told that they didn't charge for children, and the price would be $35 per night. That's what it said on the website, and that's what they had told us over the phone. Yet, they went and overcharged us when we went to check out because we had 'five' people instead of 'four'. We got charged for an extra person! Even though we were not told that over the phone! My family and I will NEVER go there again. We will also be sure to make sure ALL we know who travel up there will know NEVER to go to there.
